…back to reality…
Posted by Elisa on Wednesday Mar 29, 2006 Under Updates…back to London from Paris! Jackers and I had an adventure that began with a 6am meeting at Waterloo Eurostar which was followed by venturing to the wrong part of Paris for our hotel. Ooops, lack of organising on our part, but it was merely a hiccup. It didn’t take us long to reach our ‘HOTEL’…within moments of entering the room a familar smell of my childhood filled my nose…that of a smoking room in a hotel. Nah uh!!! Wasn’t gonna have it, so I sort of sweetly asked the somewhat rigid receptionist for another room that wasn’t quite as smelly and couldn’t potentially give Jackers and I lung cancer just by merely being in the room…it was THAT bad!
We had lunch at the local Chinese/Thai restaurant before doing a little grocery shopping (for our lunch and snacks), then SHOPPING!!! Not that one could really shop, but we surely tried. After shopping we hopped on a Cruise of the Seine, which was nice despite the rain rain rain. Jackers and I parted ways for a few hours while I went to church. It was awesome to see Hillsong Paris 6 months to the day that we were there for the launch. It was amazing, and Brendan’s preaching, was so spot on. It has been awhile since I’ve heard him preach and it was nice to hear it again…not to mention how mind boggling it was that everything was so appropriate. God’s sooo cool!
I was back in the hotel by midnight, which was a good thing seeing as Saturday was going to be an early and long day…DISNEYLAND was awesome. Aside from the rain and long lines of course. Being soaked all the way through didn’t matter so much after the first hour…however when we stopped moving and were sitting on the metro on the way home we felt just how wet we were as we shivered all the way home.
The indoor pool in the hotel came in handy as we literally jumped in as soon as we got to the hotel. So cool. We had a nice dinner at a local Italian restaurant before retiring for another long day the next day.
Sunday started off kinda funny seeing as there was the whole clock going forward thing, and us sleeping through the original wake up time. Needless to say we hopped on that tour bus and just sat as the sights passed by. It was cool though. We spent the afternoon at Champs Elysses…very nice! From there we wearily made our way back to Gare du Nord for our Eurostar home.
The weekend flew by extremely fast, and it was an adventure. C was surely missed, especially by the lil’ sis! What’s Peppermint Patty without Charlie Brown.
Anyways, now it’s back to work…blah blah blah! This week was meant to be devoted to packing up my room for my move to Sherrod’s…but my social life is getting in the way of that at the moment. So I guess I’ll be up all night Friday after getting home from Chris’ birthday dinner…
So that’s about it…will blog more later. Hope all is well with everyone.
