…the hills are alive…

…with the Sound of Music…
With that you should be able to guess where I’m headed in a couple of weeks. YUP YUP! I’m off to Salzburg, Austria. Yay! I cannot wait. It’s the first trip I have planned in awhile where I’m off by myself. It feels good and exciting. I definitely think a little one on one time is called for. A relection trip perhaps? I am soooo excited! I don’t care who thinks it’s sad, but I am sooo going on a Sound of Music Tour! Hehe!
I’m off to Austria for about 4-5 days. Leave on Thursday 11th May and return on Monday 15th May. Trying to arrange accomodation as we speak. I have a list of things I want to do and see. Yay! Only a couple of weeks away! It’s going to be fun!
I’m off from work tomorrow as we have the Colour Conference at Wembley, Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to Monday’s Bank Holiday Monday. Four day week next week, as well as the week after, and the week afer that. Not too shabby! Couldn’t have planned it better myself…well technically I did…but I digress!
At this stage I am trying to squeeze in as much as I can. Trying to hang out with my nearest and dearests, despite the conflicting schedules at times. Giraffe has become a new hot spot, that’s for sure.
Slowly and surely getting my gear together to be sent home. Trying to order the boxes that will enable me to start the process. Once I get that happening the better I feel…coz it will finally feel like I have the ball rolling. At the moment my belongings are scattered around Sher’s house in little piles.
Have plans to stay a night or two at Ashe’s this weekend, to eliviate the separation anxiety we suffer from if quality time has been lacking. Not sure of Monday plans yet, it’s either a day trip out of London, go to the Church Picnic, just hang, watch a movie, or have that house bbq Sher suggested, I’m not sure. We’ll see how this weekend goes, seeing as it’s going to be quite full on.
60 days to go…

…the four faces of DOT…

Another long weekend ahead! Yay!!! The Colour Conference starts this weekend. I am looking forward to it, like you wouldn’t believe. Monday coming is also May Day, which is Bank Holiday Monday for us. Four day weeks for like three consecutive weeks. How cool is that!

*moment of silence* as a sign of respect for ANZAC day.

So…only 62 days to go till I board the plane homebound. My thoughts? Excited? Restless? Anxious! At the moment it rests on RESTLESS. I don’t know. I can’t seem to sit still…I have plans for almost every day, but at the same time, I feel like I am just ‘waiting’…. you know? *sigh*

The weekend passed was good. Maz, Ashe and I had a nice and long catch up. Saturday was spent chilling out at Sherrod’s and hanging out with Sher in the evening over Pizza and Movies. Sunday was it’s usual Chaotic but amazing day at church. Followed

Last night we had a ‘family dinner’ @ the house, which was nice. Jaco, Sher and I talked, ate, laughed and watched TV. It’s so nice to just hang out with them.

Well, I best go….will write something a lil more substantial next time.

Take care…

…another long weekend has come and gone…

Sooo funny! Totally relative!

Well another weekend has passed and the extra day was welcomed! This weekend was as jam packed as always. Starting from Bek’s birthday celebration on Thursday evening. Happy Bithday Boo!

Friday was spent chilling out, which was extremely nice! Had the opportunity to have a day to myself.

Saturday was Brunch with Maz and Sherrod at Giraffe at Waterloo. Nice place, great location. It was a nice little catch up with the girls before heading off to Leatherhead for an evening with the Kids, who were pretty much HYPER by the time the service started with the amount of Chocolate Eggs at their disposal. Bad move!

Sunday was it’s typical awesome day serving in God’s house, before crashing completely arfter arruvung home. The three of us, Jaco, Sherrod and myself have claimed our own little corner at Sher’s front room. Sher on the big couch, me on the little one and Jaco in the hammock! Ahhh, the famous hammock! Fantastic place to hang and CHILL OUT!

Monday was a later start but a somewhat busy day. After reluctantly getting up in the late morning, the three of us SLOWLY got ready to go out for the day. Sherrod and I to Loretta’s for her birthdays, Jacs to the Church Picnic. After much deliberation about outfits, the three of us were well on out way after one.

After Loretta’s I met up with Ashe and headed on to East Dulwich to Mei’s house for our Roast Duck dinner. YUM YUM! Had such a nice evening just catching up and meeting a couple of new people. Totally comfortable and homey! It was so nice!

Ashe and I are currently going through separation anxiety. We realise that we haven’t caught up PROPERLY for like forever and we were feeling it, so we caught up a little last night. It’s always therapeutic to be able to do that. =)

Hope everyone had a good easter…10 weeks to go!

Happy Easter !!!

Greetings one and all! Okay, so it’s not exactly the Easter Bunny, but close enough! Hope all is well with everyone! Soooo looking forward to the long weekend. I realise one has been slack with one’s blog entries of late, but to my defense I wasn’t at work all week last week and this week has just been…bearable!

Plans for the weekend are as follows…. CHILL OUT! CHILL OUT! CHILL OUT! Well at least I have plannd for my Friday and Monday to be that. Tomorrow I’m just going chill, hang out, read, maybe watch a movie, walk to Tower Bridge and take advantage of being walking distance to the London sights. Hmmm, or just catch up on sleep. The possibilities are endless.

Saturday I’m having Brunch with Maz before heading off to Leatherhead for an evening with the kiddies. Sunday, well, Sunday will be it’s usual chaotic day, but it’ll be a blast just the same. I get to spend the whole day with my kids.

Monday will pretty much be like Friday, unless I feel inspired to take a day trip outside London. Where to go where to go one ponders!

Living at Sher’s been awesome. It’s been so nice to come home and feel at home. Love getting the opportunity to just hang out with Sher and Jaco.

Reason, Season, Lifetime…

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.!
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
