hi ho hi ho…it’s off to Paris I go

Posted by Elisa on Tuesday Mar 21, 2006 Under Updates

Now there’s a familiar face? It’s been awhile since Cookie Monster has made an appearance, but seeing as it has been over two years since I’ve heard the nickname, I thought revisiting it would give me an opportunity to prepare myself for the rebirth of my childhood nickname…with going back and all…we all know I was never referred to by my actual name! Not that I minded. Aside from not being blue (in the literal sense), Cookie Monster and I have loads in common. There’s that whole cookie obsession that somewhat overtakes me at certain moments of my life! But I digress…

It’s been a good couple of weeks since my last post. Deep apologies, I have been somewhat distracted. All those coming up with random answers to why, don’t even go there.

Paris is only a couple of days away and I am looking forward to the time away from London. I love London, and the closer my time here draws to an end, the more I realise just how much, but a weekend away to one of my ultimate favourite places in whole world, is definitely something I am completely anticipating with enthusiasm. I am however regretful that I am missing out on the Painting Party at Sherrod’s…but then again if she ever saw the paint job in my purple room back home she may just be sighing with relief.

We celebrated Aimee’s birthday a couple of weeks ago at Cafe Rouge. Pictures below. It turned out to be a really good evening, hanging out with our Connect group and getting to know each other a little better. Dinner was followed by ICE CREAM at Crystal’s…which was so nice.

That Saturday Ashe, Izindi, Peter and I met up at Leicester Square for lunch and Casanova. The movie was funny, for more than a few reasons. It was entertaining. The week the followed was completely busy. Between Crystal’s birthday celebration at the Paragon, plans with Ashe, Izindi & Peter, Connect, Plans with Ashe and Sherrod, Leatherhead, Normal Sunday Chaos, I enjoyed my one night in on Wednesday! CRAZY! But totally loved it.

Last night I stayed the night at Sherrod’s after having dinner there with Dan and Jaco which was awesome. We had such laughs. I can’t wait to move into that house next week. I love the opportunity to just hang out with Sherrod and Jaco and just talk.

Anyways…that’s it for now. Need to BLOG elsewhere. Hope all is well with everyone. 13 weeks to go and counting!

It’s awesome to be surrounded with amazing people,…

Posted by Elisa on Wednesday Mar 8, 2006 Under Updates

It’s awesome to be surrounded with amazing people, and even more so to realise that God has positioned people in your life, not only as random people, but as your friends, and certainly pseudo family. I always talk about a specific handful of people, and they certainly know who they are, and how lost I would be without them, but there are so many others whom without, my life would not be the same.

Gracious and kind people, who impact my life just by being in it. No words can really express the gratitude I feel for the blessing they are turning out to be.

(The picture above was a product of my creativity – poetry fridge magnets have become a passion! Hehe!)

Greetings! Another week almost over! Yay!!

Much to my own surprise, I have started jogging. Taking advantage of the Thames across from work. It’s been really cool. I have even invested in running shoes would you believe it? Oh my word!

Late Friday afternoon C dropped the bomb that he wasn’t able to come to Paris anymore…due to work moves and blah blah. Disappointing but there really isn’t much we can do. So Jacks and I are heading to Paris on our own! Which will be fun regardless…C will be missed though, if only for comic relief purposes. Just kidding. As previously stated, you know I adore you more than a few people. At the very least. Hehe!

I spent yet another weekend with Ashe, which we shamelessly spent watching back to back episodes of Dawsons Creek Season Six. Soooo good! Ashe and Jane also had their Housewarming Party Saturday evening, which ended up to be yet another late night.

Sunday was another Fun Day in the house! Had an extremely nice late lunch/ extremely early dinner with Ashe, Peter and Izindi at My Old Dutch (pancake house)…so naughty!

This week at work seems to be progressing quite quickly! Ever grateful for that! Only three weeks till Paris! Yay!I do have other thoughts, but….

…all my life…

Posted by Elisa on Thursday Feb 23, 2006 Under Updates
Ever since 106.5 and I have reunited, I have hear one of my all time favourite songs, at the very least once a day! What song is that one asks??? All my Life of course by KCi & Jojo…whom last I heard had gone back to being JoDeCi, they had a Valentines Day (near enough to the National Day of Romantic People) concert at the Hammersmith Apollo down the road. Sadly, I didn’t know till later on and by then it was too late to get a ticket. Note to self, be more aware about these things!!!
“All my life I’ve prayed for someone like youAnd I thank God that I, that I finally found you”

Segway: THE COCO POPS HAVE KICKED IN!!!! It seems that due to my Non Artifical Sugar intake during the forty days of fasting have had a serious effect. After a bowl of Coco Pops I am completely SUGARED OUT!!! I am bouncing off the walls like you wouldn’t believe. Further note to self…limit intake of Artificial Sugar!!!

Just go back from Lunch, sad really. I start my blog so early in the morning and work on it throughout the day that by the time I get anywhere I have to go and lose my train of thought once I get back.

Last night I watched Elizabethtown after A LOT of prompting from my chickas! It’s a really cute movie. I have to say I appreciated it. Sentiments and all. I kind of picked up on a few things that my friends were pointing out. Blah Blah! =P Soooo different! I don’t know what you guys were talking about!

For those who don’t know what Elizabethtown is about, it’s about this guy Drew who was just fired for producing a really badly designed shoe, just as he was about to kill himself, in a rather comincal way mind you, he receives a phone call from his sister to inform him of their father’s death. The story progresses to his leaving to pick up his father’s body from his relative’s town called ELIZABETHTOWN! On the plane he meets Clare, who immediately feels drawn to him, and throughout the whole movie she goes through enormous lengths for him. BOY! The girl wears VULNERABLE well. She was extremely brave! She just went for it, risking it all! *sigh* It was well cool! The movie has made my top ten.

Well, I have all these thoughts running through my head, but the lack of eloquence to verbalise them so I shall bow out for now.

*e bows* CIAO !!!

…temporary trip down memory lane…

Posted by Elisa on Wednesday Feb 22, 2006 Under Updates
…Yesterday I found myself in a conversation, I wasn’t exactly intending to be in. To give C a heads up on a very long novel awaiting him in his home e-mail account, I gave him a well intended quick buzz…which lasted for a lot longer. For some reason the topic of ‘PEG’ … It was a little irk-ing to realise that in a lot of ways, that is still a taboo place to visit. Will explain that later!

Yeah, that pretty much sums up what C and I are like at work and in general. With such maturity and grace! Another week begins! Hoping this week is much better than last week.

I’d like to point out how completely and utterly unhelpul anyone is at BT! After three weeks of chasing people with regards to activation and installation, I have yet to speak to someone who doesn’t have an attitude problem. Customer Service my …. ! ! ! I have spoken to five people today and rung five numbers, and each person I have spoken to were as helpful as the other, who were all as U S E LE S S & U N H E L P F U L as the other. Incompetence much!!! Grrrr!!! All I want is my broadband Welcome Pack since I am paying for the service I haven’t exactly received! *breathe* Stepping off soapbox!

…18 weekends to go…

Posted by Elisa on Tuesday Feb 21, 2006 Under Updates

Greetings all! Hope all is well with everyone. Another weekend has passed and as the heading goes, I only have 18 weekends to go. WHOA!!! Weird ey! I can’t believe that it sounds like a long time, but I know that it isn’t! I had a really nice weekend. Ashe and I meet up with Sherrod for dinner at Leicester Square. As always it was nice to hang out with them. After dinner and a little walk we headed to Ashe’s, minus Sher. Ashe and I got to hers pretty early and we basically just hung out, chatted, watched DVD’s…as planned. However we did crash remarkably earlier than predicted. By midnight Ashe was breathing ever so heavily on the couch next to mine.

Saturday we basically went shopping after her singing lesson. I ended up with a really nice pair of formal pants for £5 from Top Shop – what a bargain. I was searching for the perfect Uggie and couldn’t find one that I liked. Ashe ended up buying the whole mall, but we won’t go there.

C finished his exam!!! Yay! Dude man, I’m sure you did good!

The rest of the evening was pretty much a countdown to midnight which is when our fasting was scheduled to finished. It was really cool to have been together the night before we started fasting and end our fasting together. We had a blast!

After very little sleep Saturday night, we went to church early-ish for the first service, and Ashe’s team meeting. I struggled the whole day to keep somewhat awake. Giant task that turned out to be as I inevitably nodded off at the most inopportune times. When I had Gracie on my lap as we watched the Worship Team Practice and do Sound Check, I was nodding off before the two year old did.

Church was awesome as always. Got to sit my bud Dani, who’s such an amazing person! B you totally lucked out with that girl! She’s awesome! Ashe, and I met up with Sherrod and along with Dani, we went out to dinner.

Work is schmork…but what can you do!

Had a really interesting conversation with my buddy Ann today and as we talked, so much that a lot of things began to unravel. Things I wasn’t even attempting to address. Weird huh! Anyways, will blog again tomorrow.

…106.5 Lovesong Dedications…

Posted by Elisa on Thursday Feb 16, 2006 Under Updates
HaHaHa!!! I thought to get into the whole spirit of things I’ll check into Sydney radio! To my all time favourite station…Mix 106.5 FM! I can’t believe that Lovesong Dedication is still alive and well, and oh my Gosh! Richard Mercer is still the guy doing it! Awww…it’s nice to see that some things never change. Don’t laugh but I find that random realisation comforting!

Well trivia aside, all is okay. My mind is buzzing with where to start, and blah blah. At the same time try and ENDURE this place I call work. Grrrr!!!
I cannot wait till this week is over! Sher and I are heading over to Ashe’s house and having a Girl’s Night In! DVD’s here we come. Shame that Ashe and I are still fasting! Oh well! Only 3 days to go Ashe!!!
To say that I am excited to be going home is somewhat UNDERSTATED, considering WORK is sucking heaps lately. I know politics are bound to exist everywhere, but I am seriously gifted in that department. I always manage to pick the CREAM OF THE CROP! (never really understood that saying) … but anyhoooooo!
Anyways, off to lunch… will probably log back in to ramble about something else. Oh finally, we have a landline number and broadband will be up and running soon! Yay! The household has reached the tweny first century!

…people irk me…

Posted by Elisa on Wednesday Feb 15, 2006 Under Updates

At the risk sounding somewhat narky, it amazes me how in this time and age, people still find the concept of male and female being friends hard to grasp. Someone please explain to me what the big deal is, and why is it such a big issue. Why does it always have to be one liking the other as a motive. Why does it always have to be the girl after the guy! Why do people have nothing better to do than stir the proverbial pot. Is it such a hard concept to swallow that two people of the opposite sex can get along extremely well without all the other crap! It irks me that people who obviously don’t know the difference, find it necessary to raise the same issue over and over again. It irks me that pushes the same buttons till it gets the response that it wants. People IRK me!

…Happy Valentines Day…

Posted by Elisa on Monday Feb 13, 2006 Under Updates

For tomorrow…

Well, that’s my stab at humour for the over commercialised, I’m hesitant to say ‘holiday’. And no I am not being a cynic, can’t be what you already are…hehe! Just kidding. Honestly, I’m not. Just thought it was funy.

This year I am enjoying Valentines Day, for no particular reason aside from just an observation of the couples in my world. People who are together, those who would LOVE to get together. There is something extremely sweet about possible love. The evident flutters that you see in the corner of their eyes, the way their grin is that little bit wider. It’s well cool.

Last week of fasting! Yay! Something tells me this is going to be a somewhat challenging one. On very many levels! Bring it on hey! *sigh*

Signing off for now, need to blog on the personal blog to vent unrestrictedly! Catch ya all on the flip side!
